TriState Veterans Memorial Fund

Our Mission

Working for those who worked for us.

The TriState Veterans Memorial Fund is a 501(c)(3) charity based in Sewell, New Jersey, dedicated to honoring and supporting U.S. military veterans — and the individuals among them facing PTSD and other mental-health challenges.

How it began

We could not look away.

We formed this nonprofit because too many veterans are lost to suicide — and it is unacceptable to us that the brave men and women we call heroes should be unable to get the help they need to deal with what they carry home.

Some of us on the board have personally seen the mental effects of combat on our fellow servicemen, or seen those effects on someone we love. On too many occasions we have witnessed — or heard of — the frustration veterans face in finding the comfort and assistance needed to return to normal life after serving in combat.

So we built an organization to change that. With a well-rounded board of directors from diverse backgrounds — several with military service of their own — we are committed to making a meaningful difference in our community.

We invite you to join our growing community of Americans who care for our heroes — and want to give them the help they need to finally find peace, and enjoy their lives like you and I do.

Don't they deserve this?

Our mission in practice

What we set out to do.

Raise awareness

We bring the realities of veteran mental health into the open, working to lift the stigma that keeps people silent.

Honor their service

We work with local communities and businesses to recognize the men and women who served — and never let their sacrifice be forgotten.

Raise funds for real help

We raise the resources needed to provide veterans with direct services and support for their struggles.

Connect to resources

We make sure veterans know the hotlines to call for immediate help and the resources available on the road back.

One of our core services

A loving friend, by their side.

One example of our core services is providing veterans with emotional-support and service animals. We have seen first-hand how the right animal helps a veteran cope with PTSD — becoming more active, getting out socially, and having a loyal companion always near.

They do — quite simply — save lives.

“With a stigma surrounding mental health, we hope the TriState Veterans Memorial Fund will help veterans and provide a space of belonging. We will let them know they're not alone — and that people do care.”

— Al Frattali, President & U.S. Army veteran

Lest we forget

The Honor Roll

As we grow, we are building a register to honor the service of veterans in our community — beginning with those whose families have asked us to remember them.
